• Created guidelines for programs using live bats that are
endorsed by both public health and wildlife officials, and are
utilized by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association. • Featured on 20/20, Animal Planet, Nickelodeon, The Disney
Channel, David Letterman and the CBS Morning Show. • Implemented the development of the first bat specific milk
replacement formula for orphaned insectivorous bat pups. • Conducted the first successful mating behavior study for
Mexican free-tail bats. • Created the first nutritionally complete diet for convalescing
insectivorous bats. • Hand-raised the longest living Mexican free-tail bat in
captivity to date. • Serves as a consultant regarding the captive care and housing
of insectivorous bats for animal care professionals around the
world. • Instructs the only annual workshop in the world on the
rehabilitation of insectivorous bats.
